Total lunar eclipse
It was over two years since the last time, but on Tuesday 21 th December, we again total lunar eclipse which was visible from much of the country.
On 21 December 2010, one of the longest nights, it was finally time for a new total lunar eclipse. The last time was before 21 February 2008, and total time duration when between 4:01 and 4:51 in the morning. This time it lasted all in all, starting at 06:29 to 12:05, but the total eclipse that. when the sun is completely shaded the moon was between 8:41 to 9:53
Lunar eclipse is a very beautiful spectacle. The moon is not completely black but shines most beautifully red / maroon.
Unfortunately, not all Swedes see the entire event when the sun has already had time to go up in many places, it did not help that it was also quite cloudy in some places in the country (best condition is when there is clear and cloud-free). The further north the better chance to see it all. In Skåne he moon go down before you knew anything, and as far up as the Stockholm you could watch it all in just 15 minutes before the moon went down there as well. In Northern Norrland could however see the whole spectacle from start to finish.
